Masaka

Masaka is a surprisingly happening town found in the Central Region of Uganda.

Its population of just over 74,000 is spread out over the surrounding hillsides so the town centre is relatively small and easy to explore.

Though it was largely destroyed during the Uganda-Tanzania war of 1979 and the civil war ending in 1986, the town shows no sign of these past struggles and has been peaceful, friendly, and growing ever since.

Masaka sits at 1,200 meters so the climate is tropical but with relatively low humidity considering lies a short distance north of the equator.

The tropical climate creates a lush & colourful landscape with green hillsides, flowering fruit trees, banana plantations, and abundant birds.
